Alina Arko | Engineer

Alina Arko joined JB&B in 2023 and serves as an Engineer in the Deep Carbon Reduction Group, where her responsibilities include energy modeling for both new and existing building, analyzing energy- and carbon-reduction measures for building projects, and simulating building performance and energy consumption in DesignBuilder and eQuest. Prior to joining JB&B as a full-time engineer, Ms. Arko spent a summer interning with the firm’s HVAC Department, where she was introduced to the basics of HVAC design. She interned the following summer with the Deep Carbon Reduction Group, during which she learned energy modeling software, analyzing building utility usage, and researching LEED requirements.

Within the Deep Carbon Reduction Group, Ms. Arko focuses on analyzing building energy consumption and the impacts that different energy and carbon reduction measures have on energy usage, utility cost, and the carbon emissions of buildings.

Ms. Arko earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Bucknell University.

Fun Fact: During her time at Bucknell University, Ms. Arko was a member of the varsity field hockey team. She still loves to play and has recently joined an adult league in New York City. Although she misses playing with her close friends at a high level, she enjoys playing just for fun now.
