Griffin Teed is an Associate with the Deep Carbon Reduction Group at Jaros, Baum & Bolles.  Since joining the firm in 2020, he has primarily focused on developing carbon neutral roadmaps aligned with buildings’ capital plans.  He initiated the firm’s Incentive Management service to maximize state and utility incentives for clients.  In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, he has analyzed how indoor air quality improvements will affect buildings’ energy and carbon usage.  Prior to joining JB&B, he managed energy-efficiency retrofits and conducted retro-commissioning and energy audits for multi-family residential, commercial, hotel, cultural and industrial buildings.

Within the Deep Carbon Reduction Group, Mr. Teed focuses on identifying substantial carbon emission and energy reduction opportunities in existing buildings.  He prioritizes optimizing the facility’s systems before targeting strategies that enable beneficial or full electrification.  He regularly engages with the client to determine the best pathway for implementation within the building’s capital plan and aims to implement practical projects that lead to carbon emission reductions.

Mr. Teed holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from New York University, is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York, and is a Certified Energy Manager of the Association of Energy Engineers.  He is on the Government Affairs Committee for ASHRAE NY and is the Technical Lead for the Engineers Without Borders New York Professionals Chapter’s Maize Milling Facility in Rubaya, Rwanda.

Fun Fact: Griffin says that he “enjoys staying active – playing basketball or volleyball, rock climbing, biking, hiking, backpacking – you name it!”
