Zachery Wills serves as an Associate with the Deep Carbon Reduction Group at Jaros, Baum & Bolles. Since joining the firm in 2019, he has worked with numerous energy and HVAC design teams, specializing in the healthcare and including a wide range of other market sectors, among them transportation hub, laboratories and commercial high-rise occupancies. His responsibilities include modeling, coordination, data analysis and preparation of reporting documents.
Mr. Wills holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from Fordham University. He serves as a Chair of the ASHRAE NYC Chapter Industry Partnerships Committee and is a member of Urban Green Council’s Emerging Professionals Committee as well as holding leadership positions in JB&B’s Sustainability Committee and Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
Fun Fact: For his Mechanical Engineering senior design project, Zak’s team designed and constructed a prototype table that leveraged technology found in pop-up books. The prototype was capable of seating eight people and deployed with a single gesture, while storing flat. In order to achieve this goal, the team synthesized a composite material, combining epoxy and radially asymmetric corrugated cardboard layers to achieve desired strength-to-weight characteristics. Zak’s team envisioned that this technological cross-pollination would offer significant opportunities for single-room occupancy housing and high-density living circumstances.
